About

Hi! My name is Theophanes Avery. I’m a spirited wanderer, an eccentric artist, an avid writer, a lover of life, and yes, a sufferer of “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with Abdominal Pain.” More likely than not I probably have a handful of auto-immune diseases but over the years I have less and less initiative to actually diagnose them. Sometimes living life as a mystery is just easier than putting up with yet another clueless condescending doctor who thinks I’m just being hysterical.

I have endured ill health since the age of twelve. I am now in my thirties and am trying to hack it as a writer because functioning well enough to hold down a normal 9-5 job is just not something my randomly temperamental body wants me to do.

I know, it all sounds pretty bleak, but this blog isn’t written so I can wallow in depression or drag anyone down with me. If anything I hope it’ll do the opposite. It’s to inform, to educate, to comfort, and maybe to inspire, because at the end of the day I am so much more than my body and my health. I am a person, a soul, and mind, all reaching out to the world to offer it a hug. So whether you are a fellow “spoonie” or a curious able bodied individual I hope you stick around and enjoy what I have to offer.

Peace, Love, & Many Many Naps,

Theophanes
