Morbid Curiosities; Collections of the Uncommon and Bizarre by Paul Gambino

Ah, yet another day, yet another weird book, this one lovingly brought to me by a fellow magpie. And what a charmer it is with a luscious hard cover and big glossy photos! It’s more than just a photo archive of some of the weirdest collections people have it’s also interviews of those lovely weirdoes mixed in with fun facts about their favorite pieces.

This book goes through it all – gas mask for your horse, check, taxidermied two-headed calf, check, skulls of EVERY kind, check, terrifying antique medical devices, check, letters and art from serial killers, check, a snuff box with an illustration of a dead child?! Check.

I learned so much and felt a little better about having my own much less impressive curios cabinet. If you would like to take a gander through these whimsically macabre collections the book can be found here Morbid Curiosities; Collections of the Uncommon and Bizarre. (And yes, since I am a starving author myself I have partnered with Amazon and get a small commission every time someone clicks this link and buys the book so please do so and make TWO authors deliriously happy!)
