Well the acclimation stage is completed. Most passed with flying colors. The only one I wasn’t thrilled about were the puffers who seemed way more stressed than the rest. Two did not make it through the acclimation and the four that did are acting like they’re paralyzed now they’re in the tank. Giving them a bit hoping they pull through. The rest of the fish are already starting to color up. The emerald rasboras are suuuper timid and great at hiding but are so pretty! They’re already almost fully colored up. Two of the four hillstream loaches are batshit insane. They crawled out of the acclimation bowl and went on a little adventure. Once in the tank they have been zooming at warp speed through the tank, so fast one breached the surface like a flying fish before thinking better of its actions. They settled down somewhat after finding food. Hangry fish. That’s a first. Today I also added 4 nerite snails- two red racers and two zebras. These are a saltwater species that has been acclimated to fresh water (but still needs salt water to breed – so practically neutered.) The two dozen blue shrimp that arrived last week are also doing amazing and getting alarmingly big. I found 5 baby danios in the plants. The resident male danio spent a lot of time inspecting every fish in hope of another female danio. Sorry bud. And the plants are doing amazing. I only killed one in the last shipment – the one that was supposed to be unkillable. Anyway, I’ll take more pix, maybe a video when the fish are fully colored up. Thank you for joining my journey!
