I am super excited to announce that to celebrate my birthday (September 30th) I decided to publish my first fiction novel. It’s even better than that though. This story and the characters within it have been playfully running through for my head for almost twenty years. As such I have become super attached to them but I was nervous releasing them into the world because of their unusual identities. However, I think now is the time to step up to the plate and let you all in on their adventures.
Writing this book was just about the most fun I have ever had writing anything. It gave me a lot of joy, a lot of laughter, and it gave me an outlet to express gender in all its complexity in a positive and thought-provoking manner. I’m also over the moon that I was able to write a story involving polyamory as well. It feels good to be part of this new movement toward representation. I can only hope I have done well by it.
So here’s a quick synopssis to further incite your curiosity:
In this modern retelling of an old myth Achilles spends his youth hidden in a harem of princesses, pretending to be one so he can avoid the draft and his inevitable fate of dying in battle. Confusion and chaos ensue as he brings his chums princess Deidamia and Patroclus along on adventure after adventure.
